Keeping families together during difficult divisions

DYBBS — the Dynamic Blind Bidding System — is a patent pending breakthrough in how families divide belongings, and the result of fifteen years helping thousands of them.

Our story

David lost his father too early in life, and remembers everyone wanting just a few things to remember him by — and how hard it was to make that fair when the family lived so far apart. Sentimental value mattered far more than money. That memory, along with personal experience of divorce divisions, led to the idea of using emotional values and monetary values together to reach the fairest outcome.

In 2010 he committed himself to reducing the time and expense around these events. The web made a blind, impartial system possible: everyone sees the same information, and a thoughtful blind bidding process solves the two hardest parts of being fair to all parties.

Listing and sharing online alone removed emailed spreadsheets, shared photo folders and trips to see things in person. AI quick listing, added in 2024, turned a 30 to 50 hour item-by-item job into an instant one. DYBBS is the next step.

A long-time entrepreneur who challenges the status quo. Over fifteen years working with families dividing estates, David has become widely recognised as the leading expert on the division of personal property, and is often hired to serve as administrator of the process alongside the executor or trustee — sometimes as the independent third-party mediator who keeps tensions down.
