Built to be easy to read and easy to use
Most people using DYBBS are over 50, often doing this at a difficult time. The whole design starts from that.
Our commitments
- Large, high-contrast text as the default everywhere — not an option you have to find.
- One task per screen, with clear headings, so nothing depends on spotting small print.
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus outlines, for anyone not using a mouse.
- Descriptive text on images and labelled form fields, so screen readers announce them correctly.
- Animation that stops automatically when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Layouts that work on a phone, a tablet or a desktop without pinching and zooming.
The standard we aim at
We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We review the site as we add to it, and we treat an accessibility problem as a bug, not a preference.
Tell us if something is hard
If any part of this site is difficult to read, hear or operate, tell us and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will help you get it done another way, including over the phone.
